In the process of creation, whatever abysse artists fall into, the journey of getting out of it, what a heroic triumph, or is it an abysse recursed into just another?
"Rough Landings” : A Collective Art Experience" features the compelling works of nine accomplished artists, offering a unique window into their creative trials and tribulations. As artists, our struggles not only exist but are essential, embodying a profound significance in the artistic process.
Through these artworks, the audience is invited to immerse themselves, to see, hear, and feel as the artists do. The abyss that each artist navigates is portrayed in a variety of ways—whether literal, figurative, or metaphorical. Each of these artists grapples with their own inner demons, and we extend an invitation to the audience to embark on this journey with them, exploring diverse subjects and creative mediums.

Embracing the notion of "not again," it engages in subtraction, capturing the existence that is unique to this moment or has faded into history.
However, this isn't a conflict but a dual-direction transition. Our experiences aren't fleeting; they prompt us to explore questions deeply. Whether critically assessing the past or co-creating the unknown with the future, both reflect that our generation is constantly "progressing", "fading", and "existing".
Through video, sculptural installations, and AR technology, this exhibition redefines how we record memories, consciousness, and sensations. It reshapes themes and worlds, allowing different versions of ourselves from diverse times and spaces to meet and converse within this realm.

In a world where software is eating our world, we are all surrounded by code in our daily lives, everything is computable, directly or recursively. By introspection of the artwork curated in this show "else if else", we escape the current definition of virtual and real, intangible and the tangible, seeking different classifications of reality and materiality of art.
The exhibition "else if else" states literally with humor that computation as medium, as brushstrokes, express or capture the sensibility in all of us. Bioinformatics are also signals into designed systems that create sculptures. This show demonstrates code as a medium with its grammar and syntax to codify and express all that is possible.

In terms of its nature, is the life form of numbers rigid or flexible?

"Manifold," in the context of this description, extends the concept of smooth curves and surfaces in Euclidean space. In three-dimensional space, a manifold can be thought of as a pliable surface. As dimensions increase, the appearance of a manifold becomes harder to imagine, but it's understood to remain smooth and flexible. In the field of data science, there's a concept called the Manifold Hypothesis, suggesting that natural data can be arranged (encoded) onto a lower-dimensional manifold within its higher-dimensional space.
In the age of technology, computer programs surround us, becoming an integral part of our environment, evolving alongside human life. However, understanding and envisioning the nature of computer programs, which are computations of invisible numbers, presents a challenge. Are they mere flashing words on a screen? Do they possess a mechanical rigidity or perhaps a biological softness?
The exhibition "Manifold" explores this theme, where Li Chen-An employs programming languages as creative media. Through designing computer algorithms, he generates complex geometric life forms. The exhibition presents digital prints and single-channel videos, imagining the evolution of digital life forms. By treating code and the flow of numbers as genes, Li Chen-An seeks to explore tendencies and consciousness akin to the derivation of organic matter.

What is passed on with or without evolution is first part of a three part series of “what if Art is” and “when art ceases to be”. That is whose thoughts progress or halt to a stop.
"In the midst of constantly moving linear time, can only consciousness and memory navigate us through the fourth dimension?In the material world, existence can be proven, yet perception, sensation, and cognition rely solely on our consciousness. Named 'Retain,' this exhibition showcases four artists using diverse mediums like visual installations, videos, paintings, and sculptures. In this coexistence of contradictions, within traditions and innovations, media and methods, we return to art's essence. Letting inspiration flow naturally, like serene tumult birthing life, thoughts can transcend words.
Inspired by philosophies from sources like the "Yijing," Zhuangzi, Buddhism, and Panlos, I explore the interplay between art, culture, and emotions. Divided into four sections—“Silent Words,” “Visible Actions,” “Wordless Thoughts,” and “Fortunate Hearts”—the calligraphic and ink works reflect the deep notion that words, thoughts, and meaning are interconnected yet ineffable, echoing the cycles of life.
